Halloween Poems Heading

Was it the wind that rustled the leaves?

Was it a creaking from under the eaves?

    Was it the bats that flew overhead?

    Perhaps it was witches that caused me to dread.

Was it the clouds that raced through the sky

Or was it the bright shining moon way up high?

    Was it the pumpkins with candles inside?

    Something was happening, it can't be denied.

Perhaps it was something our teacher had said;

On this spooky night, it now filled me with dread.

    Well I thought of all this and what could it mean?

    Oh wake up you silly!  It's, of course, Halloween!
